Monument

The Monuments Collection is inspired by the ideology of memorial architecture and the artistic work of Bogdan Bogdanović’s „Cvet“ (Flower). The law of cosmic dualism between death and life, as a universal symbol of humanity, presents the idea of a utopian society of the former Yugoslavia. The works of memorial architecture are constructed as reminders, monuments of what has been, of what must not happen again, and of what we should learn in order for our society to progress. This very thought reflects today’s turbulence in society, not only in our region but also on a global level. The global climate crisis, digitalization, and migration are the main themes of the Monuments clothing collection.

In the collection, I draw inspiration from the drawings and the form of the monument itself. Using top stitching, and material shaping, I construct a wearable monument. The clothing silhouettes represent peace, unity, quality, craftsmanship, innovation, and design.
