Thinking of human nature and development, both fascinating and complex, although yet not fully explained, I am imagining a story of various colours, all in a continuous struggle. What I enjoy about this story is its end, the final moment of silence and serenity, with the only colour remaining – the colour of black. It is not symbolising darkness or sadness, rather the end of a sophisticated battle where all the imagined colours mix into a one with the strongest pigment. In the history of fashion, black is the most fascinating colour. Throughout the time and space, it has been ascribed diverse and often conflicting associations, representing death, darkness and sadness but at the same time symbolising power, wealth, elitism, prestige or rebellion. Therefore, my woman in black can represent multiple layers of emotions, attributes, and characteristics. She is elegant and fragile but also seductive, erotic, and powerful, creating an ongoing struggle of contrasts and oppositions.
